The violence in France of recent days appears to be abating with 72 arrests last night and 24 buildings set on fire or damaged and 159 vehicles destroyed - those figures considerably lower than during previous nights. 45 thousand police officers were deployed throughout the country. The riots began after 17 year old boy was shot dead by a police officer at a traffic stop in Nanterre just outside Paris. President Emmanuel Macron is meeting with the Mayors of 220 towns and cities affected across France, to try to hear about the experiences and guage the mood on the ground. France 24's Clovis Casalis is at the Elysée Palace ahead of that meeting, he tells us more.
