The riots triggered by the death of a teen, who was shot dead by police at a traffic stop, are the biggest in France's multi-ethnic high-rise estates in nearly two decades. And this is on the heels of months of mass social unrest sparked by a fiery pension overhaul showdown. For the second time in just months, French President Emmanuel Macron has been forced to cancel a major diplomatic visit involving a very close ally. "If you look at the headlines of the international press, everybody is worried about France and this climate of unrest," explains Richard Werly, Author and France / Europe Correspondent for Blick, a Swiss daily.
