Myanmar’s ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi appeared in court in person for the first time today since the military coup that took her government out of office, on February 1. According to her lawyer, she appears to be in good health, but hasn’t had proper access to the internet so she isn’t fully aware of the turmoil that has been convulsing the country since the army forced her out of power. At least 800 people have died in protests against the military.
